They didn’t have to turn the saturation up to 11 like they did with Bayo 2 but I think some color would have definitely helped Bayonetta 3. Not quite as good as Noatun admittedly but it’s at least more interesting to look at than gray skyscrapers populated by greenish-grey enemies. The ancient China area by contrast looks really good in my opinion. The first quarter of the game is entirely ugly gray cities, so they’re really not helping themselves to make the game look better by making the environment itself so bland regardless of fidelity. What I think really let’s Bayonetta 3 down is some of the environment design. The Switch, while more powerful than the Wii U, is not such a significant step up from it so I do think it’s natural that the graphics had to take a bit of a hit to make the new mechanics possible. Bayonetta 3 is also much, MUCH more ambitious than Bayonetta 2. I think Bayonetta 3 does look worse than 2 in terms of environmental texture fidelity, character model quality (but not character designs), and facial animation. This post is comparing two character models from roughly the same distance away? I agree with some of what you’re saying but I don’t understand the Zelda analogy. You're cherry picking screenshots to prove your non-existent point. Bayonetta has a way better character model in this game. They wanted her to be different, because it's a different person. They spent MORE money hiring a new voice actress than they would have using the same person as the previous games. Almost makes me wonder if part of it isn't the voice actress situation - which is stupid because it makes total sense within the story of the game because it's literally a different Bayonetta. I think the problem is that apparently the fan base mainly consists of moronic twat waffles who make posts like this. This game is great and a totally worthy successor to what came before - this is the best combat system in an action game ever and it just never stops making it bigger. I'm honestly surprised coming to this sub lol. If it wasn't for Nintendo this game wouldn't even exist. At the end of the day this is a Nintendo Switch not a high end gaming rig.

I'm not even really noticing any framerate issues and I'm used to 1440p 240hz pc gaming the game sticks surprisingly close to 60hz and has good frame buffering and timing. The game is pushing the Switch well beyond what I thought it would be capable of. The game can have some pretty low resolution alpha blending at points, and the occasional obviously muddy texture, sure but you're willfully ignoring the way more sophisticated lighting, post processing, and various other elements in addition to the totally ridiculous scale of it all. You literally control building sized demons as part of your normal combat repertoire and common trash mob enemies can be like 40ft tall.

Just an average mob in this game can look like any other action games big concluding moment. The scale of the game's combat is totally ridiculous and it literally has the biggest bosses in a game ever.

This game is overall a lot prettier than the first two games and it has waaaay more going on too, especially in battle.
